What is YET?
The successful YET project brought together fifty top talents from five European countries (Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and the Netherlands). These young people, aged 18 to 35, were selected for their specific talents by relevant consuls, embassies, ministries and other government agencies to attend a three-day programme in Limburg that offered distinguished speakers, promising encounters and interesting visits. The fifty talents, more than twenty-two speakers, ten participating companies and institutions and the various embassies and ministries were extremely positive about the first edition of YET.
Following this overwhelmingly positive response, the organisers decided to host another YET event.
The four involved consuls created a new foundation under the name Young European Talent.
This foundation aims to:
structurally facilitate a high-quality international network and networking event for young and future decision-makers in Europe;
position Limburg as an internationally-oriented region that looks beyond borders to provide a network and an inspirational setting for top international talents.
YET 2018 is currently looking for fifty top talents (ten from each country). These talents must be between the ages of 18 to 35 and must have demonstrated their capabilities (doctoral degree, special recognitions, excellent results or scientific successes, etc.) in their disciplines. Each country can nominate two talents per discipline.
The disciplines are:
